  • Can't disable the self-shadow of VRay lights?

The VRay light seems always cast shadow even if it's invisible. But I think it shouldn't cast shadow in many cases. Did I miss some settings for that? Thanks.

    Hi,

"Invisible" works with directional light, but if the shadow casted by the Rect. Light is from the GI calculations then put a V-Ray color map to the Light texture slot and set its alpha parameter to zero.

      Thanks, Tashko.
I tried your method, it works fine for disabling the shadow from VRay light itself.
But I got a new issue, when I set VRay Color alpha to 0, the light color would change to incorrect value and tint. It could be a big problem for using a texture as light source.
Is there a way to fix it?

Well, I found the answer. When I turned off GI, the light illumination looked exactly the same. It's a perfect solution. Thanks.
