  • Phoenix FD 2.2 wrong simulation

    Hello there everyone,

    I'm using the demo version, default scanline installer on max 2015... I'm following the ship in ocean tutorial, from Phoenix, but I am getting some really weird results. My scene is in meters, and I've animated this basic hull to about 10m/s so 10 meters every 25 frames... but the liquid doesn't seem to react properly, now, I can't increase the cells to more than to 2million but look at the screenshots, oon the green/orange screenshots..Phoenix FD is even trolling me as you can see a small bird over there! o.O





    Then I've opened the ship scene, reduced the cells to 1,9 million so i can simulate and this is what I get

    Any ideeas what I'm doing wrong? I don't have V-ray, so I've installed the default scanline .exe file but I guess it should work, right? If I increase the speed of the boat I get something similar, it looks like the gravity isn't working, but it is checked, I tried with higher values and still nothing!

    Please help...the thing is, this is the only part I need from Phoenix, large scale oceans, ships and skijets sailing in it. If I can pull it off, I will most likely implement Phoenix FD in my workflow.

    you are doing it correct, but if it was possible to get beautiful result with 2M cells, we wouldn't make it with 50M cells, and wait all the night to simulate it.
    the ship simulation is one of the tasks you can't achieve with the demo version

      I know my question kind of sounded dumb, but I don't really know how all this simulation things are being calculated so I didn't know what to expect
