As there is no competitor, Phoenix has absoloutly good chance to sell a lot in Modo user base.

I would also like to add that a plugin such as this would help studios and freelancers consider Modo as a viable platform for doing VFX work. Especially when you consider many VFX houses already have multiple seats of Nuke and Mari. Just as FumeFX (and PFD) helped make 3ds Max a solid platform for VFX studios, PFD could likewise help Modo. Both can help each other expand their customer base.

While I think its probably lot easier to do Phx in 3dsmax or Maya, the idea the market in Modo can't be better. No where else you would have a monopol with your plugin. Even in Blender you are in competition. Well you might not consider that but what when someone else lands there before you?

Any plans to develop Phoenix FD for MODO after seeing these posts?

                              Hey,

I'm really happy that there is so much interest I hope that we would be able to actually get to porting to MODO and live up to the expectations, but this would take time and would also require Phoenix as both a simulator and a shader to take even more beating and internal restructuring so that the port would happen easily and quickly. As far as I'm concerned, first we need to get the Mayan version straightened up and equalized with the 3ds Max one, which would prepare Phoenix for easier porting to other hosts. Also, guys other than myself have to decide if this would be a viable endeavor. I myself am convinced, but even we start now, it would require some time. We shouldn't create excessive hype until we are 100% positive that it's going to work and we'll be able to do it, so I really can't say anything right now

Once again - thank you guys a metric ton for taking the time and letting us know that you want this to happen. I hope that in the not-so-distant future we would have good news for you.

                              Cheers!

Thanks for the update on where you stand on this. I do hope, and I'm very sure many others do, that you can proceed with the development of Phoenix FD for MODO.
