More precisely - one is a simulation setting, and the other is a render setting. The simulation may bounce up or down until it settles and depending on a whole variety of factors, the result might be a little below or a little above the Fillup value, so you need to manually adjust the render ocean level in order to make it match.

    Cheers!

Got it. Thanks for the info

Hi all and Happy New Year,

So I'm back at this again and tried to change the fill levels but it doesn't seem to be that. If you see on the image bellow it almost looks the simulated waves abruptly stop there. What do you think?

For some reason imgur is really buggy. See here:

I think I figured out. I simulated with wind speed 2000 and I was rendering with 1000. I imagine that is a no go

Hm, the Ocean tex wind speed? It shouldn't be related at all to simulation. Can you share the grid size in cells and how many Ocean subdivs you are using?

                Here are the settings:

I've tried playing with ocean subdivs, smoothness and liquid part but nothing. I've now reverted to the wind speed I simulated with and it's solved but don't have the desired effect.

Hmm, everything looks fine. Can you check the latest version 3.00.02 in the downloads section of the chaosgroup website? If it still does not behave properly, can you check if removing the vessel geometry still reproduces the issue and send the scene over to Support?

Not sure I can see an issue. The area at the front of the ship merges with the ocean extension fine. It is just the simulated waves are hitting the boundary towards the back... just a larger sim area surely?

I'm using 3.00.01. I'll see if I install the latest one to see if it solves

Well but it shouldn't hit since I have 30 on the outside life right?

I thought outside life just related to Foam simulation? In terms of the actual liquid particles, they are hitting the edge which will stop abruptly and show up most in rendering.

Btw this is what it looks when I put the Wind speed back to the value I simulated with:

                            Hi all,

I have a new challenge that need your help.

I have the boat and the simulation box animated. During the animation they go next to other stationary boats which I want the wake to collide, but I think the simulation is considering them moving objects and simulating as if they were moving. How would I go about this?

                            Thank you

Hmm, this sounds like it could be a bug. Do you have 'inertial forces' in the Dynamics rollout enabled?
