  • Phoenix Ocean 360 VR render

    Hello!

How do you render phoenix ocean for VR 360 spherical camera?
When i render it but ocean surface gets cut by camera view region. Is there a way to turn this cam region off?
    Thank you!

That's unfortunately one of the things we have yet to implement. You could render 6 separate cameras for a cubic render, but it might be somewhat complicated to set up.

    Best regards,

It's one of the tasks with higher priority right now though. I hope we can get to it soon.

I am just bumping the thread. I have the same issue. The camera is set to spherical panorama from VRay settings and the ocean gets cut off. Also noticed even with normal camera sometimes you can spot that the sun shadow is cut at the end of the ocean etc. It's great for optimisation of the scene but it would be even greater if it could be overridden somehow. Many thanks Chaos team

Have not had a chance to test, but what if you point the camera straight down and make the FOV 180. Surely that should give you the full ocean in the 360.
You will just have to do post reorientation. Might work as a work around for now.

Eh.. too bad, guys. In last trends VR/Panorama renders become very popular. So this feature is really needed these days. I hope you will pay some attention in this direction and add panorama render to phoenix

                  Cheers!

Hi, is there a fix to this, or a workaround, rendering some ship VR and the sea is missing in places.

                          Hello,

We're working on this and it should be in the nightlies quite soon.

Hello! I understand that this feature has been implemented, but I just can't figure out how to enable it.
I have version of Phoenix 3.14, but for some reason the ocean is cropped when rendering. Are there sequential steps you need to take to get this to work?

For some reason, a black line is displayed at the bottom ...

If you check the Override FOV box, then it turns out like this
