  • Vray RT does not render lights - help

I am trying to render out lights in revit. The revit render engine does show them just fine but when i use gray RT they do not illuminate. what am i doing wrong?

I am downloading the lights from companies with the IES files, but only one particular light is rendering the source while the others do not.

Do you get any error messages?
Which version of V-Ray|Revit do you use? (you can find it in the About box after expanding the Help menu)

I'm asking about the version V-Ray|Revit at the bottom of the About box (e.g. 3.40.02)

Can you try to replace the IES files with any of the generic Revit IES files; and then message me the result.
Revit IES content is stored here: C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\RVT 2017\IES

              no luck :/

i went ahead and changed them to generic ies files and still no luck. I did realize that some of the IES files i downloaded did not make it over to that folder. i moved the IES files into RVT2017/IES thinking that would solve it but Vray RT is still not allowing the lights to render.

I am aware that some IES files i do not have hence the warnings, but the other lights i should have no issues with?

I attached screen shots of both revit render and vray rt below

We are aware of such problem which will be fixed in our next update.
Until then can you try the workaround described in the following thread: https://forums.chaosgroup.com/showth...p-render-error
                Let me know the result.
