The best way to deal with suspected Crack vray user's is not to answer there posts.

Since he clearly is using the 1.46.10 demo (posting screenshots and even stating it) this is not the place for warez accusations IMHO.

The problems sounds like GI shadows flickering. Try using the High Animation preset, and if that doesn't help try increasing your irradiance map HSph. subdivs.

maybe we could make a "flickering animation" sticky in this section of the forum???
Yea but if we did that it would be harder to pick out the numbnuts using the pirated software and reporting them to the proper authorities...

Hehe, so that would be a case of "sorry about the bad english" ... but I believe I did mean "bootlicker" (at least, that's how the online dictionnary traduced the french saying/word "lèche-bottes"). But to be more specific, I just meant to say that to me, it doesn't seem to be everyones concern to search for hackers. Like I see, the Chaos people are getting along with the piracy problems by their own means and I don't remember that they have asked for help yet (correct me if I'm wrong). Why call others "numbuts", being based only on some hypothetic suspicion? I don't support piracy, but neither do I support this kind of coward attitude.

well nobody has ever called anyone "numbnutz" directly. It was more a hypothetical situation. BUT, hypothetically, if someone uses a cracked version of vray, then comes here asking questions a little searching can find the answers to, that hypothetically qualifys them as an idiot, or even a numbnutz.

Ok, right, true... It's just that the whole thing sounded like a schoolboy willing to denounce another one for cheating. No need to help the cheaters, but I always felt that looking for them and telling the professor was a somewhat ugly attitude as well. Or maybe I'm wrong...?

Looking at this thread, I guess the forum separation hasn't changed anything after all.

Josiah, at least now the actual customers will be getting a better and faster support as they won't waist time reading and/or answering pirates posts anymore... Sure the public forum can still possibly contain pirates posts, but also those from demo and Vray free users, and the support team doesn't owe help to any of these categories. They're just aiming the help on their real clients at the risk of having a less active forum though...

the cracked version of v-ray does it. try uninstalling all files of v-ray and install free original version of v-ray and try again.

but you guys are missing the point for THIS particular post. the guy has already stated its his shadows that are flickering. a very tell tale sign of the low settings he showed us in his legal demo copy of vray that he is using. so there is no need to go on and on about hackers in this particular post.

stupid questions the forum can answer.

Elf, I'm sure you're right and btw, sorry for hijacking the thread. It's just that anyone can post the demo's settings while using a pirated copy (as a side note, the demo has the same features as advanced - except for the watermark, and minus DR). So there is no way to be sure if someone is using a legal copy or not in the public forum. That's one of the reasons the forum policy has changed.

That being said, I'll still try to help here since I know many are using demo and free versions. Never mind if, by mistake, I would have helped an illegal user.
