  • Threadripper vs Intel , NUMA vs UMA

Hello, I'm looking to invest into a new workstation but I'm confused by the technical language, especially NUMA.
Are the new AMD Threadripper good or not for simulation compare to Intel platform? Witch one run less NUMA node (seems that phoenix doesn't like NUMA)
I red that the new AMD threadripper can be either NUMA or UMA. Does that make an asset to run Phoenix?
    Thanks

With our tests, the Threadripper is not faster than a 12-core i7 with Phoenix simulation scenes. From what I could gather, the UMA or NUMA switch of the ThreadRipper is just related to how Windows would see the CPU, but it's still NUMA underneath and this still makes it not recommended for simulations.

    Cheers!
