  • Render with VRay 3, the Shadow study animation

    Hallo everyone,

I need to render the sun animation (shadow study) from Rhino, with V-Ray 3.

Is this possible? I Tried, but the shadows is always in the same place.

How can I fix the problem?

    Hi,

It is necessary that you turn OFF any lights when you start to render the one-day/seasonal sun study animation, since a 'V-Ray Directional Light' is created to simulate the Sun and its movement.

Did this actual fix the issue? I am having the same issue - trying to render a sun amination with Rhino, Vray 3.4 - the shadow just stays in the same place. I turned off all the lights, and it was just dark (no shadow at all). when I turn a sun on (Rhino or Vray sun) the shadows just stay in the same place and it renders a bunch of frames that are the same. Anyone know how to fix this? Did this work for you Geatano just no lights or sun lights?

oh ok, i updated to 3.6 and activated animation and it renders out with the shadow moving as it should! progress. I do see that temporary directional light that shows up in the asset manager - it appears while rendering the frame and then dissapears. Is there a way to control the properties of that VRAY directional light that is creating the shadow, ie it's intensity color etc? Thanks

Based the sun animation not on a physical sky&sun and the sky&sun parameters can be edited?

Make sure the Rhino Document Sun in the Asset Editor's Light list is enabled and then edit its settings.
