  • vray render in SU 2017 extremely dark. Please help

I?m trying to render an interior scene of a bedroom layout. Bedroom has a few windows in it, without adding ANY lights if I render, the only light that shows is whats coming through the window (and that is EXTREMELY BRIGHT). So my end result is basically a black and white render. I?ve changed the physical camera, add NUMEROUS Omni lights, but yet its still dark. I just want a basic brightness to the entire room, then add lighting details (lamps, chandelier, etc). what am I doing wrong?

Running on SU 2017, Vray 3.0

PLEASE HELP! AS THIS IS A PROJECT FOR SCHOOL.

    Thanks!

I would suggest starting with the 'Exposure' section on the correction controls, which are at the top of the list in the picture that Mousa posted. Adjust the exposure slider to get your brightness in the general area you want, then move the 'highlight burn' slider down to control your over-exposed or blown-out white areas. Then you can fine tune things with curves to get your brightness and contrast just right. (you can also adjust exposure in the Vray Asset Editor under the 'Camera' rollout....but the 'highlight burn' is only accessed through the VFB now (used to be 'color mapping' if you've used older Vray versions...but now you have to use VFB Corrections Control for this .)

Try changing the sun intensity to a lower value (like 0.1) Then increase your light source intensities. Sometime for interiors it's a matter of balancing the light intensity between inside and outside.
You may also want to increase the exposure in your render settings.
