  • Phoenix sim limitations?

    Hi Folks

    Just starting out with Phoenix...
Can someone tell me if its possible to simulate a "non-liquid object" falling into water?
In other words: If a strawberry is dropped into a bowl of water, it would create a splash. After impacting with the water surface, the strawberry will pick up speed again, and drift towards the bottom of the bowl.

    Thanks - kind regards,
    Michael

Hi and welcome to the club!

Shortly, we're working on that feature and a rough version is already in the nightly builds. It's far from perfect and that's why it's not available in the official build but If you're using a PhoenixFD_adv then you can try a nightly build and experiment with this feature. Also, we've discussed this and some other things already in this post:

P.S. I really, really, really recommend starting with some theory, tutorials and some cool example scenes which you can find in our documentation: https://docs.chaosgroup.com/category/phoenixfd

      Thanks a lot, George...
And yes, I'll make sure to start with docs and samples. Was wondering though, if there's a Chaosgroup / 3rd party "dedicated" Phoenix course somewhere?
