  • Big Wave in Phoenix FD

hi,i just wondered if the phoenix fd can simulate big wave?just like the pictur below.if so,what parameter should be adjusted, the Strength in Wave Force or Wave Height in PhoenixOceanTex?

    Hello,

For this kind of wave, you might want to try to model the shape of the wave and use Body Force in order to attract the liquid to it, instead of a Wave Force.

    Cheers!

Could you give me more details about "modify the shape of the wave"?

You could use a wave rig for the underlying wave mesh that will be used in the body force. Here is a tutorial for doing one. Never tried it but could work

I would suggest an alternative approach: start with a container filled with water only in the left part, and just start simulation. The walls must be solid, when the water hits the opposite wall it returns back and forms exactly this shape, This video
is made with Phoenix 2.0 seven years ago, we used then same solver for liquids and fire, you should receive mutch better result now with the FLIP solver that is especially designed for liquids
