fog tricks

    i had two fogs. 1 set to a ground mesh to be low lying but thats not the important one. the other as normal fog no gizmo. height 150 distance 100 (working in feet) the trees are 150 feet high)

          the file would still be big if i add in the vray proxy. weird enough... i just noticed. Max files zip extreamly well. but proxy files dont

            i find that when i turn on GI i loose some of the definition of the rays. this i guess is due to light bouncing around in the mist. if i lower the bounces would i get better rays? ive got it at 4 bounces

              is fog distance when using a gizmo the distance from the camera or the distance from the boundary of the gizmo?

                Have you tried making a light that is just for the fog?
                I have had good results by cloning my key light.
                Setting it to exclude everything in the scene.
                Crank up the multiplier a lot (20,000 or so depends on what type of light setup)
                Include only that light in the Vray fog.
