  • focusing an image using a lens

i was wondering how you would go about using refraction and caustics to produce an upside down image of the scene, when focused through a lens. im guessing this is quite tricky.

i can imagine some kind of system where you map a render to a directional vray light emitting caustics which is targeted on the lens. any thoughts?

You could use the "Directional" parameter for rectangle V-Ray lights in V-Ray 2.0, but yes it would be something similar. Also, depending on the size of the light, using GI caustics (instead of photon-mapped ones) might produce better results.

    Best regards,
