  • Network speed + DR ?

    Hi,
I have a question with distributed rendering and network speed.
    Here the setup :
    1) All render slaves have the Maya project in local (all textures/proxy...are on each render slave. In the scene, all paths link are in local (c:\project\...)))
    2) The GI is in brute force
    3) The "master computer" open a scene in standalone, connect all slaves, and render.

    Question :
    1) The network can be saturated or not ? With 2 ? 50 ? 300 renders slaves ?
    2) why i have this : "Sending 840004 bytes of irradiance map to" ? My GI is in brute force.
    3) If all is in local on each render node and GI in brute force, what could saturate the network ?

    Thanks.

not sure if I'm right - most likely wrong but it depends from image size and speed. Each time bucked is rendered it sends data back to workstation with all the layers and information. If u have loads of buckets and fast renders it can take a bite off network - unless I'm wrong :]

then they should not use a lot of network... the longer bucked stay on render node the less network it uses because untill it finish rendering bucket there is no data to send....
