    Hi Gijs,

    Thanks for the reply, I think I understand now. I'm planning on using a saved irradience map for primary bounces and a saved lightmap for secondary bounces. It sounds like I'll have to experiment with the filter options in lightmap to smooth the results.

      Very interesting what I've read over here. I've actually switched to the Lightmap as soon as it became available with the first VRay beta. I like it. It's pleasantly fast, offers uncomplicated settings and works with everything (environment lighting, VRay lights, self-illuminated lights and standard Max lights and materials).

      But using LM for both primary and secondary GI tends to wash out details. I will definitely try QMC for secondary bounces. One question though: the QMC settings section has changed in the VRay betas. Could anyone please give me some examples of low, medium and high settings with the new QMC GI values?
