  • Long Animation - Logistical Questions

    Hi All,

We are just about to start a large (for us) architectural animation. I'd like to here how other people handle the massive amounts of files (images sequences, render tests, max files, irmaps, lightmaps, combustion workspaces, etc) for a large project with dozens of scenes and tons of takes?

I'm looking for ideas on file system structure, naming conventions, etc.

Any input on this would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

i usually use this folder structure for my projects.

im going to be changing it later to have a bin called Tests and one called Finals. then have (Stills, Sequences, anims) in each bin

basically when i get a new client i create a folder for them with their client name. then i drag that template folder structure into the clients folder and make a copy of it. then rename the "A blank template project" folder as the project name.
