May i add that materials do come into play as well when lighting?
What looks grey in outdoor lighting looks a lot darker in interiors.
My house is painted lighter inside for the purpose of maximising light in indirect situations.
When a beam passes through the window, it does burn out where it touches, in my own eyes, and generally raises the contrast of what i am looking at.
If i look at the burnt area, the rest of the room darkens, if i look at a darker corner, the burn will come through the eye as an unpleasantly strong glare.
So i'd say in general the physcam should get at least HALF the blame it is getting these days...

          Feature request! VrayIriscam

Shoudnt be too hard to code vlado
The only parameter you need will be a slider going from "20/20" to "I CANT SEE SHIT"

Should also code the "aging" parameter into it.
Whereby in an animation it gets progressively out of focus and hazy.
Now that i think of it, it might be scripted using the two parameters above
