Another great tutorial - thanks Anselm. Great trick too - I can see a lot of use in that. I just wish I could get the kind of instance numbers out of Pflow that I was getting with Vray Scatter - it would open up a lot more possibilities to use this kind of stuff, at least for me.

    Thanks /b

That's absolutely true! PFlow is not good for VRayScatter quantities, it's only advantage is it's flexibility. VrayScatter is multi-threadded and PFlow is not (( that's is biggest draw back. literally But i always say that this draw back makes you inventive. Necessity is the mother of all inventions they say, HA! That's how we came up with the substitute tricks

I gonna buy multiscatter soon, is it literally the same as vrayscatter with MR support in addition?

      Glad you like it!

That swap trick is a big help for sure- but still can't swing the kind of crazy numbers that VRS can. I am not sure about Multiscatter - haven't bought it yet, but one thing it does that VRS does not do is allow you to scatter multiple objects rather than having to have a new VRS for each item. That alone is a big help.

I do think they have a totally separate version for MR though, so you may end up having to buy two versions if you still want to work with VRay as well.

Oh thanks for the info! I will email them again tomorrow. I would need a cross renderer solution unfortunately PFlow's biggest draw back is single threadedness (if threadedness is a word). It drives me up the wall watching 15 threads twiddling thumbs...It is a (single-)threaded vehicle...it gets you anywhere just not as fast as a sports car

Definitely check it out - I could well be wrong on that. I haven't looked into it since release, but that was my impression from discussion at the time.

Steve Green was so kind to run a quick test for animated Proxies. he did further R&D with animated position objects as well but those had issues at render time, but worked in the viewport (hopefully will be fixed soon).

the house is fractured with rayfire.

thought that's worth sharing work for tearing the house down as well
