Hi Scott,
i saw part of your presentation at NAB...congrats, it was pretty good.
One key aspect of this concept that i'm not getting is how you are catching shadows...cause a simple vrayMtlWrapper can be confused with Gi emitted from the room Geo. Right?
I imagine that you are doing with another Render Layer..with some rectLights/Gi Off to get only the shadows, i'm Right?
Thx.
Santa: There was actually no GI used for those renders. If you want to collect shadows a vraymtlwrapper can be used in a separate render layer.
Obrad1972: You can use automatic mapping, but I don't recommend it. Ptex saves a lot of time and you don't have to uv. If you automatically map then you might not have good enough resolution.
What an awesome tutorial - Thanks for bringing it to us, Scott.
One thing I haven't been able to figure out is how you combine all of the cameras into one mari_cam that has them all keyed on different frames. It may be so trivial that it wasn't worth going into detail, but I only just switched to Maya from Max so any insight would be appreciated.
