How can i show an exterior from inside a room. i can put a plane with an image in front of the window but then i loose my sunllight. I know it can be done bbut how?
The sun isn't the problem since you can disable "cast shadow" for the photo plane. But my problem often is that I like to get the lighting from a HDRI env for correct lighting the room and the background plane blocks the GI light. Trick to keep the GI: set the photo background plane material 99% transparent and rise the emitter multiplier until it is visible again + set background env black and instead use refl/refract env. But in this case the background plane could send some GI light into the interior. But it could work for you.
I don't know why it is so difficult for Vray to support all typical options like disabling/enabling GI, Reflection, refraction, camera, shadow ... . Could be great if the development team could think about to complete this kind of options.
i am a bit in the dark here. You do use a plane with a bitmap on it? Them you make the plane transparant and apply an emmitter layer?
A manual which does not go as deep in the technical details as the vray manual would really help. A manual that for instance says when you increase the min subdivisions you will have less noise at the expense of longer rendertimes.
