  • broken vray?

Just downloaded the vray plugin/blender package (2.73. from chaosgroup site, first it wouldent launch and i had to do symlink to libGLEW.so.1.6 and libtiff.so.4 and then it would start.
Then i couldent fint vray in render engine, so i went into user preferenced and tried to tick in the box but im getting errrors there too...
traceback on line 306 mod=_import_ and on line 37 from vb import 'plugins'.
    Importerror: Cannot import name 'plugins'

Currently have installed blender2.71 from git repository and it works without problem.

Anyone knows why this dosent work?

hi im using blender 2.73 with vray 1 month trial full vray standalone they told me the version from the website is no good , so dont worry its not anything you havent done .
also a message for chaos WOULD IT REALY HURT JUST TO PUT OUT A FEW JPEG / PNG IMAGES OF BLENDER VRAY NODE SETUPS !
i only have 2 weeks left with my trial period and cant seem to re size a simple UV map of a womans face . manually ,yes it resizes, but upon hitting render , no change !
is lack of documentation ,or png demo node setups for blender vray a deliberate miss information to goad people into buying Maya ?
im onto to you Chaos......GRRRR GRRRR i am trying to finish making a demo for possible paid work and your lack of info is f******g my chance up.
vray is awsome compaired to blender cycles PLEASE HELP US BLENDER USERS A LITTLE MORE CHAOS thank you.
ps generally on this planet when you buy or try new stuff , it comes with intstuctions

      nice rant

There are some peculiarities with the Blender to Vray integration, and I would certainly agree there could be a bit more documentation about the workflow. Here is where you can find node documentation:
      http://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/VFBlender/Material

      Regarding UV mapping:
I couldn't find an example of the image texture node - but basically the trick there is to use the "UVWChannel" from Blender for any mapping adjustments you make in Blender.

        oops, it should read:
use the "UVMap" UVW channel from Blender
(for some reason no one but administrators can edit posts on this subforum.)
