Sorry daforce i'll have to disagree with you on that .. Lightmap is camera dependent, so can be used for all .. e.g Exterior .. walkthroughs.. well everything.
i normal do my test render's with lightmap on the first bounce and when im happy swap it to the second bounce and use IRR for the first..
where i find lightmap good its not good enough for production first bounce. pretty much like photons.. so i use IRR to refine the GI.
yep. i got the codec and installed it.
i probably just need to restart or something...
i'll have to try it in a bit. lots of renders to get out + holidays tomorrow!

Hi Natty i'm not talking about the lightning of the scene
but if you look at the left wall its not smooth like when i render it with irr map.
i'm asking what is the parameter that smooth the solution?
Hi gilicom
basically your lights need to have smooth surface shadows on and the shadows ar being directly computed, so they will look a little grainy with low subdivisions, yours is 10 .. try 15-20.
i have a question about irradiance maps
if i calculate my irradiance map for an image whhich is 640 x480 pixels and save it
can i use it to render a 1600x1200 or bigger image
sry natty but that day i had been checking a lot of topics side by side as i am new to this forum.sry for that
