  • How to properly bake?

    Hello,

I am trying to bake textures but I am getting weird artifacts in the baked png. Thel look like cut out polygons.

To simplify things and make sure no setting in the project were affecting the outcome I have created a new blender file with a simple sphere with red color:

I have tried setting smooth shading on and off, I have created a UV map myself and let Vray use it, I let Vray create it’s own UV map (both Lithmap and SmartUV - I fiddled with all settings here) and I came up empty. I have noticed that when I have created more seams the quality went up but artifacts didn't go away entirely nonetheless.

Maybe my workflow is just flawed?

I am using the Blender Vray build from December 11th (version I had before had the same problem) and I have updated VRay recently too.

    Any suggestions?

    Edward
