  • Chaos Cosmos is loading - White screen but nothing is happening

    Hi!
    I've got troubles with the cosmos browser - it won't work.

    When starting it, the cosmos-window says "Cosmos is loading" the spinning wheel spins and spins, the window stays white but nothing else is happening.

    Any ideas?

    Hello robert_ecker

    This issue might be caused by an antivirus program or firewall. Please try disabling them and then restart the 3D Host app.

      Hi!

      Already tried this - but no success.
      Also tried to update the GPU Drvier - same.
      De- and Reinstallation didn't fix it ( also tried older CB Versions )

      Also to mention: We're using Vray 6 with 3ds Max 2019

            Hi Robert,

            Was there any fix for this when you contacted support? Happened to me today and I took the same steps, still not working for me and I am also in Max 2019 Vray 6.

            I even removed chaos cosmos and the assets I had already downloaded (by accident) so I am in quite a bind here.

            Please let me know as I am having a panic attack.

                I am quite worried, please read the following.

                I got a reply from Hristo, a senior team leader who told me straight up that Chaos will no longer be supporting Max 2019.

                I really don't know what to make of this.

                I can understand that Max 2019 is old, but to leave us 2019 users in this situation just doesn't make sense to me. Especially since everything was working fine just a few days ago.

                Please give it a read and let me know what you think.

                I'm really lost here.

                  Yeah, i knew chaos will stop supporting Max 2019 with the upcoming Vray 7 release. But didn't recognized that the support stopped 2024 already - until recently the VFB tells that there is a new version available but not installable for our version.
                  Very sad, so all the users who quit Autodesk, because of their change of licencing model to subscription only without owning the software anymore are being kicked out.

                  But the error seems strange, because it accures from one day to the other - so i guess something has changed in the background / server-side.

                  A quite good solution would be, that the customers would be able to download cosmos assets from their account at the cosmos website directly - at the moment you can only browse the assets and see your favourites

                    I agree with you Robert, I understand them stopping support, but if they can just leave us with a properly functioning version then that would be great and give us time to upgrade when financial and time situation permits.

                    In any case I got a reply on my thread from Hristo and he said that they are working on a fix.

                    So lets keep fingers crossed!
