  • Cosmos assets freeze whole application

    Hi team,

As soon as I import an asset from the Cosmos browser and want to interact with the asset, the entire C4D interface immediately freezes and interaction is no longer possible. The problem only occurs since new assets have been added to Cosmos. I have updated both C4d and Vray to the latest version in response, but to no effect.

    With the request for feedback.
    Thank you

        Hello torsten_buthmann,

Did you do anything (like restarting Cinema4D, or restarting your computer, or anything else)? What exactly?

        Thanks

Hi, I encounter similar problems. Although I can import a furniture item without problems, when I try any random tree, Cinema4D locks up or crashes.
          Any idea why?

            Hello menno_vandijk ,
Are you perhaps trying to import Cosmos variants? Currently their import is expected to be a bit slower and could be improved in the future.

bozhidar_ivanov it happens with any tree I import. Haven't even tried the variant type trees.

                Hi Chaos Cosmos Team,

We're encountering the same issue. After importing materials - which are now node materials for no obvious reason?- from Chaos Cosmos our project data becomes unusuable and freezes the
application every 2-10 seconds up to hard crash.

Is there a way to stop the import of node materials and instead have the classic setup back again?

This creates only problems in current on going projects and feels again like a beta release, same with the update
that hat .c4d files explode and RAM overflow.

Best Regards and hoping for a quick resolve

                  Hello joel_mielisch1,

Could you please provide the following information to help us investigate the issue:
                  • Cinema 4D version
                  • V-Ray for Cinema 4D version (please share a screenshot from V-Ray > Help > About)
                  • Cosmos version
                  • OS
                  • Does the crash occur immediately after importing Cosmos materials, or does it happen when applying or modifying them?
                  • Do you encounter issues with node materials that are not imported from Cosmos?
                  • Does this issue occur in a new, empty scene when importing Cosmos materials?
                  • Could you share a video demonstrating the issue?
                  • When the application freezes, please collect a dump file and share it with us for investigation. You can find instructions on generating a dump file in this article. You can share the file here or by submitting a request through our support portal.
