There could be differences in image quality. The speed of the denoisers and their memory usage is pretty similar.
Currently Optix is recommended for animations because Intel does not yet support temporally stable output ("reduce flickering"), though it is expected to be added "soon". Intel may be slightly better for stills.
Thanks, so the "reduce flickering" tick box as per previous versions are now built in to the Optix denoiser.
There's no other options to click when choosing denoisers as previously.
No, the option is still there. It is only available for animations (Sequence mode of the render dialog) and only when Optix is selected.
I think the original reason to have this as an option was that older versions of Optix produced softer results when it was enabled (on the other hand you would need very clean raw renders to make it work without flickering when temporal stabilization is off). I haven't checked if this is still true.
