    Hi Vasile,

I tested the AE_38_010 on RTX8000 GPU with the 472.84 and 511.65 driver at 3840x2160, 6000spp, no denoiser, on Light Cache:
    • with 472.84 ~577 seconds
    • with 511.65 ~591.5 seconds
    Best regards,
    Alexander

You should average at least 3 runs as there is some small variation in the results. And more importantly lock the clock speeds. This can be done with nvidia-smi.exe for example. Alternatively at least let the GPU run at 100% for some time (e.g. Vantage rendering the viewport) until it reaches a stable max. temperature. Then start your test without giving it a rest to ensure each test is run at the same temperature.

      Measurements are otherwise unreliable.

        Hi Alex,

That proves that the 511.65 drivers does not improve performance, on the contrary, multiple GPUs (rtx8000, a6000, rtx 3090 etc.) seems to suffer performance loss in Vantage.

Another friend of mine, with two A5000s noticed the same thing.

Anyway I'll stick to the 472.84 drivers as long as possible...

            The PC with A6000 is with Win 10 Enterprise N 21H2 (19044.1466)
We are introducing A6000 series GPU in our ecosystem. Could you help us or guide us to what all we need to keep in mind before the purchases.? Speed vs Ram, cooling etc.. will be really helpful.
Would 2x A6000 increase memory to 96GB for use with Vantage.?

No, each GPU uses its own memory pool and keeps its own copy of the scene.

I have tried the newest SD drivers 512.15 with the hope that it might bring back the 472.84 performance. I have tested the drivers on my both PCs one with the 3090 and one with the A6000.

                Same performance loss in Vantage...

And given the fact that Nvidia’s next-gen Hopper GPU was revealed, Nvidia tend to slowly decrease older generation performance in order to "force" people to upgrade, especially the companies that are specialized in 3d rendering, game development, graphics etc.

                  Hi vasile_bulgac1

The performance loss happens on a GPU connected to your monitors, the card downclocks itself to 700 MHz or so. You can monitor the frequency with GPU-Z
If you restart your machine you should get back to normal(until you trigger the behavior again), in most cases the bug happens after a long while of using the machine(but it seems that you can reliably reproduce somehow)
We have been working with Nvidia on this for a while now, sadly this behavior seems to be triggered by multiple things.
Do you usually keep your machine on for a long time? you could check right after restarting the machine if the performance is normal.
Do you change any of the settings in Nvidia's control panel?
Is it possible to take a look at your setup please, we can setup a teamviewer session? it seems that some utility apps could trigger the issue. It will be helpful for us to check your setup, as you can reliably reproduce the bug

                  Best,
                  Muhammed

                    Hi Muhammed,

I will try to monitor the frequency with GPU-Z when it renders to see if it downclock itself.

About how long I keep my PC on, it's about 5-6 hours per day. I will try to restart and then test the render speed.

I never change settings in NVCPL, and I always set Vantage to max pefr. (3090 and A6000).

My PC with the 3090 is connected to a LG UltraFine 32EP950-B (3840x2160) and my PC with A6000 is connected to a Eizo Cg319x (4096x2160) but I'm really worried if this might be the cause.

About teamviewer session I can't install it, sorry but I can provide you DXDiag system file reports if that helps, but trust me on 472.84 drivers I had no issue at all.

I also heard many people complaining since 510 drivers release of performance drops in many apps, including games, that's why I'm worried.

Tomorrow or the day after tomorrow I will run some tests with GPU-Z and I will post the results here.

P.S As a matter of fact I rolled back to 472.98 on my machine with the A6000 because I can't afford that performance loss.

                    Best regards,
                    Vasile B.

Here's my DXDiag report showing my PCs configuration

I have also checked the perf. after restart and no avail. The same

                      I will continue to investigate

Either you have something installed on both machines that triggers the issue on startup. Or you are hitting a separate case that we didn't come across sadly, hence I asked about a team viewer session.
I have reproduced this issue multiple times on different machines, the behavior is always fixed after a restart. And in most cases I need to use the machine for +30 minutes to hit the bug
It is important for us to be able to reproduce your case in order to solve it.

                        Best,

                          Hi Muhammed,

OK, fine... I will install TeamViewer (free).

Write me a PM with all the details, because I never used TeamViewer only MSTSC

                          Best regards,

Support will be in touch soon for the information. I will take a look at the performance degradation in Vantage with 512 and 511

I have used the submit a request from. It's ID is #30799 and I want a positive declaration intended to give me confidence or a promise that during the TeamViewer session none of my driver settings or other workstation settings (including OC and other OS related settings) will not be tampered with, because my machines are very stable.
