  • Local error in rendering animation

    HI,
I recently tried to make an animation with vantage1.8.4. I exported a vrscene with max and then read the file with vantage. Sometimes there was a local error in rendering the animation, I couldn't find the reason.
I tried to output the sequence frame and got the same result, still a partial error.
Does anyone else have the same problem as me? How can you avoid this problem?

    Advice would be grateful.
    Thank you

    JING

This looks like a failure of the AI denoiser. Has the camera moved through a solid object (like a wall) just before this frame? Or has it jumped from a different position? Sometimes such events cause artifacts in the denoiser. I suspect that if you render the frame with static denoising (no "reduce flickering") the artifact will go away, though the frame will probably look slightly different than the frames rendered with "reduce flickering".

      HI,
      Thank you for your reply.
In this animation, the camera does not penetrate the wall or object, and such errors run through the whole animation. In the whole 4-second animation, there are 110 frames with such errors (120 frames in total). I will try to turn off the noise reduction and try again.
      Thanks again.

Looks like there is something wrong with the table, but I can't be sure. Could you share the scene with us so we can investigate? You can do this here, with a link to this forum thread: https://support.chaos.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
When packing the scene, make sure to include all texture and mesh files.

oh, the files are not so easy to collect and this rendering error did not appear again after I turned off the noise reduction. But these are the interface to remove the noise reduction tick, is there a command line can directly remove this setting?

            Hi wang_jiii,
If I understand correctly, you're looking for a way to turn off the denoiser. There is no command line that can disable the denoiser, but what I can suggest is just turning it off and render once. The denoiser setting in the Render setup window is persistent between sessions, so it should be disabled until you turn it manually back on.
We are working on including it in the .vantage file settings, so it will be kept with the scene settings in the future.

            Best regards,
            Simeon

em.. Thanks for replying. You were right.
After I turned off noise reduction in the output Settings, this area error did not occur again. So. I would like to set this to be turned off automatically from the command line, but my workflow is to close the software every time a task is finished and restart it again with a new task.
              Expect a better experience.
