Vantage 2.0 3ds Max 2016 live link problem

I'm having some issues with the live link between Vantage 2.0 and Max 2016.

Can someone help me with this?

As I remember last time we had to download the nightlies version.

This is a very old Max version that I think V-Ray has not supported for a while (years). Have you successfully used it previously with Vantage?

Yes, this was possible with the Vantage version 1.8.3.

I have box version 3ds Max 2016 installed at the company I work for, and they don't want to upgrade to a newer version (due to the subscription system and costs). Therefore, I have to continue using 3ds Max 2016 U4 with V-Ray 5 and Vantage 2.0 installed as vanilla.

Could you try if the following prevents the error?
- Install Vantage 1.8.3
- Make a copy of the files in C:\Program Files\Chaos Group\Vantage\dcc_scripts\3dsMax
- Install Vantage 2.0
- Overwrite the files in the scripts directory with those from 1.8.3

I used version 1.8.3 and 1.8.6, but I'm still experiencing the same issue. This problem seems to have occurred primarily after formatting the computer and reinstalling all applications from scratch, including the latest V-Ray 5 installations for 3ds Max 2016.

I'm sorry, I'm not sure if you mean you used Vantage 1.8.3 or only the script files from 1.8.3 copied over the 2.0.0 install as I described. Actually does Vantage 1.8.3 work without the file copy hack? You said it worked before, but does it work now?

Ah! I'm sorry. Unfortunately, the live link is not working for both versions of Vantage at the moment (it was working on the old system where I can't remember which version of V-Ray was installed, but now I have downloaded the latest V-Ray 5 for 3ds Max 2016 on the newly formatted system).

I haven't moved on to the folder hacking part yet
