  • Vantage Anima Texture Bug

    Hi,

I already read a lot about using Anima with Vantage and I just came back to that workflow since Chaos released 2.0 and announced " full compatibility" to Anima.

I already got Anima people to work:
Thanks for the help in this forum

Now I'm facing the following problem:
When I'm using Anima in a vrscene in Vantage after a certain amount of frames the textures get messy. See the screenshot attached.

The alternative of using Live-Link is no solution in this case, since the scene is quite heavy and the Live-Link crashes when I try to reach the desired quality.

I would be super happy to get a solution as soon as possible since submission is tomorrow Thank you for your help in advance!
    Best,
    Frederik

PS: this really does not feel like full compatibility.

    Hi Frederik,

Does the issue happen on specific frames or it is random? If it happens on specific frames than most likely the problem is in the exported .vrscene. Which version of V-Ray for 3ds Max are you using? Can you try and reexport the scene and test with it?

    Best regards,
    Alexander

      Hi Alexander,

      Thank you for your answer.
      The issue happens randomly.
We are using Vray 6 hotfix 3. Is the newest version needed to export the vrscene?

      Best regards,
      Frederik

        I think so, try V-Ray 6 for 3ds Max, update 1.2 .
Make sure to use the latest available Anima too.

Perfect, thanks a lot for your help!
          It works quite fine now

Sometimes the exported scenes (only when anima people are included) randomely stop the animated camera or anima people, while other animations like animated backgroundplanes continue. But we manged to get everything done!
So thanks again and best regards,
          Frederik

            Hello!
I have the same issue. Textures get messed up at random time on half of the anima characters.
All softwares are up to date (Vray 6.20.3, Anima 5.2.0 and Vantage 2.2.3)

Any ideas on how to fix this?

            EDIT:
I realised that the UVs get messed in 3ds max. So It seems that it is an issue from Anima. I ll check their forum as well.

One has to bake the animation in Anima before exporting it.

              Problem solved so far.
