  • environment scene states not working when switching from physical sky to HDRI

    Dear Vantage team
Scene states is a very powerful tool specially to save different lighting scenarios, mainly using different HDRIs, or sun positions throught azimuth altitude.
Right now if you save different scene states where you swap between texture environment (drag drop HDRIS from cosmos) and physical sky sun position (altitude , azimuth)
then when you try to swap between those different states, you cannot, instead if you click first a state with texture HDRI, then when you try to swap to the next scene state,(or scene substate) with the physical sky , it keeps texture in the slot of environment and vice versa
CAn you fix that or maybe let me know if i have understood somehting wrong
    Thanks

    Hi digital_technologies,

Do you mean that there is no smooth transition between the two states, one with an HDR and one with Physical sky? Because currently there is a hard cut when switching between states with such settings. If this is not the case then could you record a video to describe what you mean?

    Best regards,
    Alexander

      Dear Alexander
No this is not what I mean
I mean that you save scene state , lets say one with physical sky and sun, and a different one with just HDRI and disable the sun.
Then when i try to switch between the different scene states, it does not work, meaning that if I load the HDRI scene state and then switch to the sun physical sky, you dont get it to work, instead it keeps the texture mode in the environment
I will try to save screengrab video

Thank you for the video. It explains a lot. You are adding an HDR from cosmos and it breaks the lighting in the previous states. We will see how to fix it. In the mean time, as a sort of a workaround, you can try to load the hdrs by using the Load environment button and select the HDR you want. I know it is not ideal but this way the scene states should not be broken and switching between them should work properly. Can you give it a try and let me know?

            Hi alexander
            Like this it works perfect
Thank you very much for this option
Hope you find a way to fix this issue.
Please add the possibility on the main button of create state to update the current scene state or if you save with the same name to appear a dialogue that asks you if you want to overide, so that we dont need to go to the subscene state and update there.
            Thanks
