  • Motion blur not working

    Hello,
I have the problem that I can't get Motion Blur to run.
    I am using:
Maya 2022 to export the. vrscene
    Chaos Vantage version 2.5.1.
Graphics card: Nvidia RTX 3090 ti

The Maya camera has a physical camera tag with motion blur enabled.
In Vantage I have activated motion blur both in the tab
"Current Camera Options" and in the render settings.
Have I overlooked something or what could be the reason?
I have attached the Maya and the vRay scene.
I hope someone can help me.

    Kind regards,
    Daniel

Yes, there was a regression in 2.5.0 that we identified last week. Motion blur will be fixed in the next patch. Until then you can use 2.4.0 ("show all versions" checkbox on the download page).

        Hi dnaiel_berhold,

Rounded edges is supported with the release of 2.5. If it doesn't work for you, can you please send a scene so we can investigate?

            Hi,

Just to add, Motion Blur is not working in 2.5.1 and its badly needed for production.
5.4 motion blur also produces artifacts with glow/fog.
Also there is a big performance difference between 2.4 and 2.5, already mentioned in the forums.
Any plans on fixing this soon?

              Hi eugene_zoss,

Fix for the motion blur is coming in the next release (2.5.2) which will be soon.

With each feature implementation performance differences are expected to some extend. Can you please be more specific about which difference you are referring to? If you are talking about https://forums.chaos.com/forum/chaos...es-than-before then can you please send us a scene to investigate what could be causing that difference?

eugene_zoss I would do motion blur outside of vantage to be honest, Davinci Resolve handles it much better and has way more control, can use it for both still images and animation. Until Vantage handles it similarly to Vray then i wouldn't use it but thats my personal opinion. If you want pro looking post processed motion blur you can also look into ReelSmart Motion Blur by Re:Vision Effects

Thank you, I am aware of the Velocity Channel, ReelSmart or Fusion solution, these require much longer render times to mitigate noise for these channels.
