  • Chaos Scatter is not turning on/off visibility when Scene sub-state is changed.

    Hello,
I have imported chaos scatter objects from 3DS Max into Vantage. They display fine. However, I would need to turn them on and off visibility using "Scene sub-state" and unfortunately that doesn't work for me.
Example: i create a sub state where the scatter is visible and save it. In the second state, the scatter is hidden. When I switch from the off state to the on state, the scatter remains invisible....
It works the same way in reverse - If I have the scatter visible first and use another state to make it invisible, it stays visible.

Any idea what to do about it?

We have a fairly large project at work with lots of cameras and green space - 15 kilometers of new road. My idea was to put all the cameras in a row in a timeline and use "Scene States" to determine what will be visible when for the render, everything works except for the scatter green. If I turn on all the greenery at once, some objects go black.

    Thanks for help!

      Hi Adam,

This is a current limitation. Scatter, fur, decals, clipper and the water surface objects are not stored in the state system. We have it as an improvement logged in our system under LAV-2098. Probably the only workaround that I can think of is to duplicate the surface you are scattering on and store a different position for it, for example below the scene. This way the scattered object will move to it and they will be out of sight. Hope this works for you.

      Best regards,
