  • GPU consumption

    Hello,
Recently, it seems that Vantage is sucking up too much graphics memory...
Usually, I'm dealing with relatively simple scenes of a building or two, then some vegetation around, a few characters, and relatively few vehicles.
I feel like it requires a lot of graphics power for Vantage, and then I reach the limit in red and the program crashes.
Is there a way to check how much graphics memory each object requires? (Apart from turning objects off and on)
Are there any methods to reduce the graphics memory of a model/material/texture?
It's almost impossible to use scenes from a bird's eye view, for example...when you need a lot of vehicles or a lot of vegetation...

Also, I noticed that objects such as SHADER BOX or wParallax for interior display, draw a lot of power from the GPU. Is there a way to improve this?

I should mention that my machine is a high-end rig that includes
    i9
    128 RAM
    3080 RTX

    THANKS,

Do you have "Safe GPU allocations" enabled or disabled ?

To optimize the memory usage of a scene you can do what games usually do, like: use game-ready models (for example for trees, humans, and vehicles), use a lot of instances, and don't use displacement, also you can export scene and render it in standalone (with max closed), but 12 gb of vram is quite a small amount and the truth is that you just need more vram for that type of scenes
