  • Scattering Fog

    Hi,

Scattering Fog turns off when rendering, does anyone know why?
I don't have any other fog enabled in Vantage - would that cause it?

    Thanks,
    N

Do you mean it is missing when doing final rendering, but it is present in interactive mode? I can't think of a reason for this. Was the fog created in Vantage or was it imported from V-Ray settings? Is the result the same with any quality preset or any denoiser setting?

I know that rendering an animation via live link from 3ds max will override scattering fog settings in Vantage and use the ones set in 3ds Max (none if not set), so you need to match those settings in 3ds Max before doing the render. Otherwise it could be something as simple as your scene state being overridden in the Vantage to a state without scattering fog

You're right Rita, I needed to have a V-Ray Environment fog in the Environment, Atmosphere, Effects panel with the Fog Distance set correctly - otherwise the Scattering Fog would disappear when rendering.
        Thanks, N.
