  • Render Animation via LiveLink on a remote computer

    Hi guys!

I am wondering if it is possible to "Render Animation with Chaos Vantage" on a Vantage instance that is running on another computer in the network. Just like Live-Link can easily be setup to run an another machine just modifying the vrayrt_dr.cfg file.

Why would it be wonderful? because then, I can place my super_noisy-hair_dryer GPU computer in a separate room, and I can send animations from other silent cheaper computers.

I am a MaxScript enthusiast, so I've been taking a look at the dcc_scripts "Vantage-LiveLink.ms" and files and "Vantage-UtilityFunctions.ms" and found the problem of (the lack of) communication between the remote Vantage to the local 3dsMax.

Is there a way to solve this? Haven't this been implemented for a reason or am I alone in this request?.

    Thank you very much!!
    Keep up the good work!

    Hi Galen,

This sounds possible. We will look into in and report back when we have something that works.

That sounds promising! Meanwhile, I'll wait for Vantage 2.0!
