  • Dongle to Online Licence help

    Hello,

I have two licenses (3.7) in dongle and wanted to switch to Online License.
The dongle is installed on a Windows server 2003 machine.
In the help page of the license setup, say that the operating system has to be at least Windows Server 2008 R2.
How do I migrate from one mode to another so I can update to VRay Next very soon.

    Thx in advance

    My current hardware setup: HP Z820 32-Core Dual E5-2670 128GB RAM - NVIDIA® Quadro K5000

You can install a license server instance on another machine, log in with your account, plug in your dongle and migrate the licenses from there. Supported OS are listed here - https://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/...m+Requirements
You'll also need dongle drivers installed (WibuKey for users) - https://www.wibu.com/support/user/do...-software.html

Please note, that we do NOT support online licensing on Windows server older than 2008 R2, so if you migrate your licenses you won't be able to use the current server for V-Ray licensing anymore.

            Thx Ivan,

It is better then, first to transfer the dongle to a normal machine and only then to switch to a virtual machine, because I do not know if the dongle will be read in the usb of the NAS. What do you think?

Yes, that will be better if you can set it up like that (having a spare machine etc.)

                Hi Ivan
I just installed on another machine (win7) license server and dongle. I have already activated License server and the dongle is working. My work machine is already directed to the new server and everything works with the dongle. I don't get the option to transfer to the license online?!?!? Can you help me?
                Thx in advance..

Please message us at support@chaosgroup.com for that. When you do - please attach the output of http://127.0.0.1:30304/migrations from your browser (paste it in a text file) and a newly generated .wbc file - https://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/...atinga.wbcFile
