License suddenly not available on render node: error (-98)

Hi,

A render job on my queue suddenly came up with an error "Could not obtain a license (-9" and checking the license server on the node it says no license is available. Any ideas how this error could appear suddenly and how to resolve it? The server that has the dongle is working fine and other render nodes on the farm are ok. I tried installing the latest license server version (5.1.2) and no luck.

Hello,

Can you please make sure that the Chaos Group primary license server address on that node is set to the hostname or the IP address of the license server that has the dongle. In case you are using dynamically assigned IP addresses with no reservations please use the hostname of the server.

In case the node is still not able to obtain a license from the server please send us the following information to support@chaosgroup.com:
1. License server logs - please login on the computer with the dongle and use the following link to get them:
http://localhost:30304/logs/download
2. The status.json from the license server. Please collect it from the following page at the same time that you are getting the error on the node - http://localhost:30304/status (or http://server_addresst:30304/status where server_address is the IP or the hostname of the license server if you are trying to access it remotely)
3. The link from this forum thread.
