  • new online will not work

hi, after transfering my license from the dongle to online vray stops working with "no license" error when I try to render something.
My actual vray version is 3.6.04. The server soft is the newest one. In the web interface I see, that I´ve my licenses active.
Made for safety a complete new vray installation, nothing helps.
Please help me to get it running.
    Thanks

You can check if your license settings are correct - https://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/...cense+Settings
If they are - try restarting Maya and if there still is a license issue - message us at support@chaosgroup.com

thanks so much for help Ivan. Now it works fine. I didn´t know, that I still need a license server ID in the "change license settings". I thought this is irrelevant now with online license procedure. I ask me, what is with the salve-hosts? Is´nt the new online license host unbound? When yes, do I not need to set "change license settings" on the hosts? Otherwise, when the hosts needs to set "change license settings" too, which host ID I need there? And please beleave me, I read all manuals aorrund this theme, but it doesn´t help at least. Thanks, Jörg

With our licensing you have a license server that redistributes licenses from a certain source - a dongle or our backend license server (online). With Online licensing you can have more than 1 license server instance installed because you have a single synchronization point for the license info - the backend license server. When obtaining a license, V-Ray always is the active part, meaning that it sends a license request to the license server and the license server responds to the request. That's why you should always "tell" V-Ray where to ask for a license - that's done by adjusting the license settings.
Different topologies are described here - https://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/...d+Installation
