  • Online license server completely dead

We have a license server with many licenses, all of which are working except the connection to the Vray online license server. Machine has an active internet connection with no firewall.

Our systems are up and running and in good shape. Could you please check if your license server is activated? Open localhost:30304 and there should be a green icon that shows if the license server is activated.
Press the refresh button in the browser if there is no new info for 3-5 secs. Also try to deactivate and then activate again if you still can't see your licenses.

    Thanks,

Ours is down too! We have quite a few licenses and our studio is completely down right now. The VRLService is running as well.

Stopping the VRLService and starting it back up did the trick

License server was completely fine until around 6pm. Looking at the server, the CPU load when from idle to 70%-80% around the same time and has been going up and down since with the license server working intermittently. We've got offline licenses working now as a backup so all is not lost. However, the sooner resolved the better

just went down again. Restarting the VRLService works for a little while then it goes down again. What is going on?

We are looking into the problem. Our monitoring is not showing any problems. Could you please tell me what is your version of the License server?

Thanks and sorry for the inconvenience.

Could you activate again? There is nothing on our side.

Thanks for confirming. It's currently working. It went down several times today. I've attached our log. diagnostics.zip

There are a lot of "ESOCKETTIMEDOUT" errors in your logs. This points towards unstable connection between the license server and our back-end servers.
I would assume this is a temporary situation. In case the problem persists:
                      * borrowing your licenses offline will provide a workaround so you can continue your work
                      * contact support@chaosgroup.com and attach the logs in the email

The logs will be helpful to see if this is something on our end, as noted in the post above.

                          Best regards,
                          Vlado
