  • VRLService refuses to start ERROR 1053

I just upgraded to Vray Next and the license service refuses to start (already tried 5.1.1). I'm on Windows 10 1803, Vray 3.6 was working fine before i uninstalled everything Vray related.

Solution: manually delete any former software installations from Chaosgroup

Running into the same error on Windows Server 2008 R2. Nothing else to uninstall unfortunately.

Could you please do the following in order to clean and re-install the V-Ray Online license server :

      1. Please close the Services window in your OS(if it is opened) and uninstall the V-Ray Online license server from your Start menu>Control Panel> Add remove programs
      2. Make sure to delete the folder C:\Program Files\Chaos Group\VRLService
      3. Go to the folder "C:\Program Files\Common Files\ChaosGroup" and delete all files and folders except "vrlclient.xml", which is needed.
Please download and install the latest V-Ray Online license server 5.2.2 from our web site:
      https://download.chaosgroup.com/?product=48

After the installation is completed, please check if the V-Ray Online license server status page "localhost:30304" is available and you are able to click "Online licensing" > Enable and enter your credentials.

Let me know if the above suggestion helped you.

Same Error. Service couldn't start in the cmd line during installation. So login fails.

Can you try deleting "C:\Program Files\Common Files\ChaosGroup\ssl" folder and restart the license server installation.
If still unsuccessful - please message us here - https://www.chaosgroup.com/support/contact

Thanks that seems to have cleared it up. (Or a series of reboots, one of the two).
