  • Particle Tuner Questions

    Hello,

I wonder why the Particle tuner doesn't delete objects - please have a look at the screenshot.

I have set a distance range (random) to the blue box and I expected this to delete everything (like a ramp) within this range, in order to have nearly no more particles at the box.
But many particles are not deleted. Mayb I'm not understanding what "random" means?

My aim is to avoid this typical "hard cut" look, where the simulation grid is ending.

    - Is there a random selection by percentage possible? In tyflow for example I can delete a certain amount of particles.
Often useful, if you don't want to cut a hole into the simulation, but thin particles out.

    Thanks!

Hey, could the problem be that the geometry does not enter the simulator? Off the top of my head, maybe it needs to be at least slightly inside the simulator, otherwise it gets completely ignored.

good hint, thanks, yes it’s maybe outside.
I did a second test meanwhile with it inside and it worked then, I was just not getting this smooth fade out of particles.
A bit, but not the smooth soft way of gradually outfading I was expecting. I will examine further…

Yay! If the particles are moving down too fast, then maybe you need to increase the distance?
