  • Using Particle Tuner To Emit Liquid?

    Hey all

Is it possible to use the particle tuner to emit liquid at distances between objects, much in the same way you can inject smoke into the simulator by using the voxel tuner? I don't really see a way to do this, but thought I'd ask.

As a visualization, let's say every time this sphere gets close to the box, I want the faces closest to the box to emit liquid. Click image for larger version

Hi, if you select the sphere as the emitting object and then use the particle tuner it might work.

But what do I set the channel to in the particle tuner? Click image for larger version

        Hello,
Tuners can't create particles. They can only modify the speed, colors, viscosity, etc. Or delete them.
You can achieve the effect by masking the source emission with a distance texture.
        Similar to this:

It works better if the emission mode is set to Volume Inject. You can put the distance texture into the source emission mask. And select the box (or any other objects) in the texture's list.

How would I go about masking the source where it intersects with another geometry and/or gets close to that geometry?

Oh, my bad. I didn't see your full message. I did try a vray distance texture, but couldn't get it to work. Would you please be able to share recommended settings?

I figured it out! I was selecting the sphere AND the cube in my distance tex, when I just needed to select the cube. Thank you!

                Hey,
I'm sorry for the delay. I was going to send you the scene, but I'm glad you've figured it out.

                Cheers
