  • Looking for a tutorial or guide to create spray jets

    Hello,

I'm really struggling to create something like the photo attachment, where I have spray jets shooting water at objects for cleaning. The Spray/Mist kind of give the effect I'm looking for, but I need the water to look like this when the water first leaves the emitter, not only when it's hit the object.

    Any pointers?

    Cheers,
    Dean

Thanks, I will see if I can figure out what's going on here

I guess it depends on exactly what result you need, but as a potential solution you could just use simple particles - Tyflow or
whatever (which'll have the benefit of collisions that Phoenix splashes don't), then on hit you birth fluid sim stuff from the target object for drips etc..
Should be way easier to control

Yea I'm looking into that too. I don't know how to do the drips / water running down the objects though.

Basically I'm trying to replicate the photo in terms of animation. The spraying of the water, it running down the object, water dripping, as well as loads of spraying / overspray.

Drips in the way I suggested is just using the target object as an emitter and a texture to vary where on the object the particles spawn, to give the illusion that the inital e.g. Tyflow particles transition to drips.
In theory, the speed of the spray will mask the obvious lack of a physical link betwen the two systems.

I did that kind of simulation. You need a high velocity emitter. Very high SPF (12 at least). I kind of remember I needed a bit of sticky liquid to have the water dripping from the object.

                I think I'm getting there.

I ended up having my objects as emitters for the water, tyflow for the water jets, and fire for the steam. Throw in some stylish lighting and motion blur, and I think we'll be OK
