  • More displacement control

Is there any way to control whats happening with displacement, to optimize what's going on? Right now it just seems as if the time to calculate displacement goes up with the grid size/resolution, which makes sense but is there any way to control how many subdivisions are running through? I could see why that might not be possible, if its purely based on the voxel grid.

One thing that really bugs me though is that Max completely locks up during the calculation process, is there any way to fix this?

    Thanks,

there are no subdivisions of the displacement, the displacement does not construct a subdivided copy of the grid, it works in-place.
about the max lock - this is pretty normal, because the displacement is a part of the rendering.

Part of the rendering yes, but it locks the render dialogue so I'm not able to hit cancel if it's taking forever, which it does with larger grids. Is this part fixable?
