Can sim be calculated using multiple machines ?

not supported yet. we have no stable technical solution for the moment, the buffered conservation method was introduced planning to use it for network simulation (it is possible with it), but it can't simulate liquids and apparently the liquids became the main feature.

So, the buffered conservation method sounds interesting. I am simulating fire/smoke at the moment. How would I set this up ?

you didn't understand me correctly, the buffered conservation is technically possible to be used for distributed simulation, but it is not implemented.
