  • texture controls emission of smoke

Say I have an object that has an animated texture on it that reveals the object over time. I would need to create a texture that only animated the reveal point not the full reveal itself. At the reveal point I would like some wispy smoke to be emitted using Phoenix. Is there any way to do this ? Would I need to use particle flow or could I just use Phoenix somehow ?

This would be the animated full reveal gradient for the object.

and this would be the point reveal where I would like the smoke to emit from.

Both these grads would have a synced animation from left to right.

The second gradient just has to be put in the map slot of the Smoke channel of the PHXSource, and this should be all.

Well, that's a lot easier than I thought it would have been. Great. Thanks

Thanks. I've got another question if you have time.

How do I have a puff of smoke from the emitting area and not a continual stream of smoke travelling up ?
