  • Mixing Flip liquids

I can't remember if this was do-able since moving to FLIP. Can we mix two source liquids and blend the colours? I've been asked about doing a shot involving a blender!

    Thanks

Yes, it should work. I can post a sample scene later today to show you how this is working.

Ah that would be cool, I haven't got time to look at it today as deadlines are coming!

      Thank you!

There should be no problem - you just need to assign the Phoenix texmap which is used to extract the RGB from the simulation onto the material of the liquid - regardless if this material is a Standard material, VRayMtl, etc..

IM sure its something I might be missing but I loaded the file above and hit sim and then checked it when it was done and its not rendering the RGB of the liquids, its only rendering white for both? Any ideas?

*EDIT* Also the PhoenixFDTextmap is showing No Data in the Material Editor?

What Phoenix build are you using and are you using VRay as renderer?

Can you try with the latest nightly? Recently we changed the behavior of the PhoenixTex as it wasn't quite easy to set up.

We use OCtane I think it only uses it own materials so I am not sure RGB mixing is possible unfortunately.

Hmm, well the only thing you need is a place to plug a diffuse map for example...

you mean octane can't read the standard maps and materials included in max?

No OCtane got their own maps. Not sure why they did this
