  • Missile or Rocket flame

    Hi! How can I set up a missile or a rocket flame with Phoenix FD? I'm trying to set up something similar to a tomahawk missile launching from a ship. I Tried using the explosion preset but changed the emitter to only the faces underneath my cylinder (dummy missile) but that didn't look good (only a small flame and faint smoke. Then I increased the velocity but the fire looks like broken up sparks. How can I make a better one?

    If fire looks like sparks, you have to increase steps per frame from dynamic rollout. It calculates longer, but keeps the simulation continuous.

        Also, for smooth straight fire, try Forward Transfer advection method in Dynamics roll-out.

          However, note that forward transfer will produce less detail than Multi-Pass, so it's ideal for the jet itself, but won't look so good for the smoke without using a huge resolution.
